Scams and Alerts!

Recently, It has been brought to our attention that there is a Sweepstake letter being mailed to residences throughout the county from the "Sweet Stake International Lotto Commission Company S.A." indicating that you have won a "Lottery". This letter is being sent from a country in Europe. The lottery pool is Twenty Six Million (U.S.) dollars and your winning payment is approximately Two Hundred and twenty six thousand (U.S.) dollars.
However, to claim your prize you must fill out a form revealing your bank account number, routing number and other personal information. They also mention that there will be a sixteen hundred dollar insurance premium cost charge on a monthly basis to you. At this time the Sheriff's Department considers this letter suspicous. If you have recieved a letter such as this or if you should recieve one in the near future, keep the letter for reference and contact our Detective bureau at the Sheriff's Department, (573)883-5820.
